How to add captions: static, dynamic and karaoke
Burned-in captions are the single biggest driver of watch time on vertical video, and they are also the most tedious thing to do by hand. Nobody wants to time words in a timeline at eleven at night. Forgefy has three on-video caption styles. Static text sits on screen for the whole clip. Dynamic captions appear in timed segments. Karaoke highlights each word as it is spoken.

Good to know
The accent colour is applied by matching the accent word, not by which word is currently active. That is why the preview and the exported file look the same. Karaoke renders one image per word transition, capped per export. If a clip has more word changes than the cap, Forgefy falls back to flat timed segments instead of failing. An image plus timed captions is automatically promoted to a short video, because a still image cannot show timed text. Caption size is fit-first: Forgefy collapses to the fewest lines that fit rather than overflowing the frame.
Which style should I use?
Karaoke for talking-head and screen-share clips on TikTok and Reels. Dynamic for a few punchy lines. Static for a single headline over B-roll.
Can I turn captions off per platform?
Captions are part of the rendered video, so they apply to every platform that gets that video. Create a separate post if you want a clean version.
