X/Twitter Profile Optimization Checklist

Your X profile is your landing page. Every profile visit is a potential follower or customer. Make sure every element is optimized.

Use a clear, high-quality profile photo

Headshot with good lighting. No logos unless you're an established brand. Face visible, professional but approachable.

Write a bio that explains what you do + for whom

Formula: [What you build] + [who it helps] + [proof point]. Example: "Building Forgefy | Helping founders automate marketing | $5K MRR"

Add a compelling header image

Product screenshot, key metric, or simple value statement. This is prime real estate - use it.

Set your location

Even 'Internet' is better than empty. Filled profiles look more legitimate.

Add your website link

Link to a landing page or link-in-bio, not your main homepage. Track clicks with UTM parameters.

Pin your best-performing tweet

Pin a thread that got high engagement, a launch tweet, or your clearest value proposition.

Remove "I follow back" or similar from bio

This signals low-quality account. Your bio should attract the right people, not everyone.

Include relevant keywords in your bio

People search bios. Include terms like 'SaaS', 'founder', 'marketing', your niche.

Add a clear CTA in your bio

"Download my free guide ↓" or "Try [Product] for free ↓" pointing to your link.

Check your recent tweets

New profile visitors see your last 5-10 tweets. Make sure they represent your best content.

Set up a consistent posting schedule

Profile visitors check post frequency. Inactive profiles don't get followed.

Turn on professional account features

X's professional account gives you category labels and additional profile sections.
