Content Quality Checklist
Before hitting publish on any piece of content, run through this checklist. It takes 2 minutes and ensures everything you put out represents your best work.
Does it pass the 'so what?' test?
Read your content and ask 'so what?' If you can't answer immediately, the content lacks a clear point.
Is the hook strong enough to stop the scroll?
Cover the first line and ask yourself: would I stop scrolling for this? If not, rewrite the hook.
Is there exactly ONE main idea?
Every post should deliver one clear takeaway. If you're covering multiple topics, split them into separate posts.
Would I share this if someone else posted it?
If you wouldn't retweet or share this content, why would anyone else?
Is it specific (not generic)?
Replace vague claims with specific numbers, examples, or stories. 'Grew my SaaS' → 'Grew from $0 to $5K MRR in 90 days.'
Did I remove unnecessary words?
Read it once more and cut every word that doesn't add meaning. Shorter = stronger.
Is the formatting scannable?
Use line breaks, bullet points, or numbered lists. No walls of text.
Does it sound like me (not a marketing robot)?
Read it aloud. If it sounds corporate or templated, rewrite it in your natural voice.
Is there a clear CTA or next step?
Every post should have a purpose: follow, reply, click, save. Make it clear what you want.
Is the timing right?
Check: is there breaking news that would make this tone-deaf? Is it the right time of day for engagement?
